Vandalism of an Orthodox Church in Kosovo

January 11, 2016. It is the second time that the Church of St. Demetrius in Susica (Kosovo) was vandalised. Members of the parish council informed their priest Protopresbyter Sava Šmigić, while the Diocese of Raska-Prizren reported the incident at police station in Gracanica, as the official website of the diocese reports.

The unknown perpetrators broke a window in the altar of the church and they found the moneybox. The priest said that they stole 50 euros. Archpriest Sava Šmigić said that small churches does not have money and the damages are big from such actions. He urged people who need money not to steal but to ask and the church will try to give them. He underlined that financial needs does not justify such a behaviour.
