Unidentified criminal threw three grenades to an Orthodox church

May 4, 2016. Three explosions were heard in the territory of All Saints Church in the village of Georgiyevka of the Marjino District in the Donetsk Region, unidentified criminals hit the building for the staff, with a novice inside, but he was not injured, as the website Interfax-Religion reports.

The Marjino Police Department of the Volnovakha District of the Police of the Donetsk Region reports that on the eve at 9:21 p.m. the police department received information from the church novice who said that when he was inside, he heard one explosion, then several more explosions, then there was a sound of metallic subject, falling from the roof to the yard, and then there was one more explosion. The novice did not suffer any injuries.

The explosion damaged the roof. The investigative group and an expert worked at the site.

According to the preliminary version of the law-enforcement agencies, the criminals threw three grenades, supposedly RGD-5 to the premises. There were metallic fragments and a fragment of grenade found at the site, they are handed over to the expertise.

A criminal case according to Article 296, Part 4 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is initiated on the fact.
