Ukrainian Orthodox Monastery vadalized for the fird time in a year

January 3, 2020. The bell tower of the Annunciation Monastery in Nizhyn, Ukraine was vandalized on New Year’s Eve, for the third time in a year.

On the night of December 31 to January 1, unknown vandals painted on the wall of the bell tower, which faces the street of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, reports the press service of the Nizhyn Diocese.

“While the faithful are thanking the Lord for the past year and asking for peace for the country in Orthodox churches on New Year’s night, vandals again managed to paint and desecrate the walls of the Nizhyn Annunciation Monastery. forgive them, Lord, for they know not what they do,” the press service reports.

The same bell tower wall was also vandalized twice last January, on the night of January 29 and again the next day.
