The pressure on the Russian Orthodox Church has increased

January 9, 2018. According to a senior spokesman of the Russian Orthodox Church, Aleksandr Shipkov, last year the church suffered more intense informational pressure than in 2015 and 2016.

“I would divide this year in three periods. The first one included the campaign around the St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the second (summer and autumn 2017) – the campaign around film ‘’Matilda’’, and in the end of the year there was an attempt to plant a term “orthodox taliban”’, “orthodox extremism” and so on, but I have to admit that the church managed to stop and avoid the late political operations”, stated A.Shipkov

To his mind, those campaigns were calculated, payed and organised in a consistent manner.
