The chancellor of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church discussed the interfaith situation in Ukraine with the head of the UN monitoring mission

March 9, 2016. The chancellor of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the Metropolitan of Borispol and Brovary Antony met with Fiona Fraser, Deputy Chief of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission and the representatives of the Mission delegation at the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra on March 9, as the Information and Education Department of the UOC reports.

Both sides discussed the results of the visit of the mentioned international organization staff members to a number of western regions of Ukraine, where violations of the rights of the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church were registered.

The delay in the registration of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Statutes by the Ministry of Culture and the potential adoption of the draft law N4128 by Verkhovna Rada which may lead to additional interreligious confrontations in Ukraine were also brought up during the meeting.
