Robbery in an Orthodox Church

February 15, 2016. Unknown perpetrators robbed the church of Saint Nikolas in the village Hilcha, Rivne region (Ukraine), as diocese of Rivne reports.

On the night of 13th February, police received a phone message from the villagers of Hilcha that unknown persons had intruded the church boutique on the source of St. Nicholas. The police investigation found that the thieves broke the windows and took icons, honey, crosses and many other church items.

In the morning of the same day, after inspecting nearby area, the villagers found many objects from the church shop that were broken and scattered around.

Head of the police department Alexander Panasyuk declared that two suspects were found are placed in temporary detention.
