Arson in an Orthodox Church

February 24, 2016. On 22nd of February there was an arson in the temple of Mother of God in the city Mykolaiv, in Lviv region (Ukraine), as it is reported by the Department of Information and Education of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate).

The central part of the building was seriously damaged and a part of the refectory was burnt.

The church was saved because of the quick response of the fire brigade but the damage is estimated at 150 thousand UAH.

Policemen found 5 bottles containing flammable liquid near the side doors of the temple and they opened the criminal proceedings.
