Albanians prevent Serbs from cleaning inside desecrated orthodox church

September 20, 2016.A building inspection with the support of the municipal police in the Kosovo territory prevented Serbs from putting things in order inside the church of Christ the Savior in Pristina which had been desecrated by Albanians, reports the site pravoslavie.ru.

As soon as Serbs started removing rubbish and excrement from the desecrated temple which Albanians had turned into a public lavatory and refuge for drug addicts, the police appeared and demanded that they immediately stop the works “on unregistered premises.” However, when the house of God had earlier been set on fire and blown up by local Albanians the police were not so prompt.

“The policemen told us that they arrived after receiving an application from local residents who had allegedly reported the illegal work inside the church,” one of the Serbs related.

The unfinished church of Christ the Savior in Pristina has been attacked many times over the past seventeen years, but the criminals have never been detained.

In 1999 there was an attempt to blow up the church, after which it was used as a toilet and a dump. Not long ago the church was set on fire, and following that incident representatives of the Diocese of Raska and Prizren intended to clean up everything inside it and to install iron doors.
