September 23, 2018. The Ovruch eparchy denied fake, disseminated on Facebook purportedly on behalf of Metropolitan Vissarion. This is reported by the website of the Ovruch eparchy.
“Due the fact that in the social network (Facebook) someone has created a page called “Vissarion Stretovich” and published different provocative information, which I, Metropolitan Vissarion of Ovruch, has nothing to do with. I consider it my duty to inform once again: this fake page was created by some enemies of the Holy Christ Church,” the appeal says.
On September 20 in the network there was published a decree on behalf of Metropolitan Vissarion, which condemns the decision of the Synod of the ROC of September 14, 2018. The message also proposes to stop the commemoration of Patriarch Kirill.
Earlier, in the social network on the fake page of Metropolitan Vissarion of Ovruch, they placed provocative information about autocephaly in Ukraine.
Recently, a fake account of the Abbot of the Sviatogorsk Lavra has also been registered on Facebook. This is reported by the press service of the monastery.
“The press service of the Sviatogorsk Lavra on behalf of Metropolitan Arseny states that this profile was created without his blessing and has nothing to do with either Metropolitan Arseny or Sviatogorsk Lavra,” the official statement reads. “All information by Metropolitan Arseny and the Lavra’s press service is published exclusively on the official website of the Lavra and on its official accounts in social networks.”
