A Department for protection of believers’ right is founded at the diocese of Khmelnytskyi

Feberary 9, 2016 At the secretariat of the diocese of Khmelnytskyi a department for the regulation of interfaith relations and protection of believers’ rights was founded, as the press-service of the  diocese of Khmelnytskyi reports. One of the objectives of the department is to solve the interfaith disputes emerging within the territory of the diocese.

The department was created upon the instruction of the metropolitan of Khmelnytskyi and Starokostiantyniv Anthony for the implementation of the order issued by the Metropolitan of Kiev and all Ukraine Onuphrius. According to the decision of 9 February, the department is founded “in order to ensure compliance with the legislation in force concerning interfaith relations and protect the rights of orthodox Christians under the diocese of Khmelnytskyi of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.” The archpriest of Vinkovetsky district Michail Varahoby is appointed as the head of the department.
