Two churches of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church were robbed

March 10, 2016. The Church of the Great Martyr Demetrius of Thessaloniki in  village Sloboda-Dashkovetskaya (Ukraine) was robbed on March 1 and the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in Medvezhye Ushko Village – on March 8, as the press service of the Vinnytsya Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church reports.

Traces of the break in were found by the rector of the church. According to him the criminals broke the window glasses and stole old silver vessels used for the Divine Liturgy.

The robbery of the church in village Medvezhye Ushko was detected by parishioners. Particularly the unknown people broke the lock on the door of the church and stole the icon of the Holy Great Martyr Demetrius with a particle of his relics.

The police were called to the crime scenes and necessary investigations were carried out.
