Desecration in an Orthodox Church

January 12, 2016. Many significant religious and historical items were robbed by unknown perpetrators, from the church of Saint Paraskevi, in the village Orino, in Epirus (Greece), as the website romfea reports.

The sacrilegious perpetrators took two very old books of the Gospel, the Holy Cenotaph, the Holy Grail, a Cross and a big Icon of Christ, which was placed in the Holy Gate. They also took two very old banners that were carried in religious processions.

A woman informed the police and police officers found the window of the church violated.

The priest of the church, who was called by the police, said that he found everything destroyed in the church. He said that many temples have alarm system but the perpetrators know well how to deactivate it and he asked from the State to protect them.
